THE GREEN ACRE
Growing More Than Plants
We are proud to announce The Green Acre - a $7 million mixed-use development that will expand our mission and continue to serve the community for generations to come.
Teens Grow Greens began in 2014 with a nine-month paid internship where teens developed life skills through hands-on experiences. In 2018, TGG began occupying the historic Webers Greenhouse, which has since served as an experiential learning space for students and a store for community members to purchase flower, herb, and vegetable plants with all proceeds benefitting Teens Grow Greens programs.
Since our inception, TGG has grown from just 10 employees to over 70 in seven years. The Green Acre will allow us to continue this growth in a number of ways:
The Green Acre will serve as a hub of youth leadership and development, with several new greenhouses and learning spaces that will provide skill-building employment opportunities for teenagers in Milwaukee.
NEW FACILITIES & PROGRAMS

Through an expansion of our Apprenticeship program, Graduates of Teens Grow Greens will have the opportunity to pursue a structured employment path to opportunities in education, agriculture, entrepreneurship and marketing.
EXPANDED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
The Green Acre will encourage positive change and community interaction for residents of the Rufus King neighborhood and economic development along Green Bay Avenue. Thanks to a Teens Grow Greens customer survey, The Green Acre will offer gardening and cooking classes, as well as space for community events.
